By purchasing a Southern Cross Pet Insurance (SCPI) PetCare or AcciPet policy during the Promotional Period you are automatically entered into the SCPI ‘12 months’ free pet insurance’ prize draw (“Prize Draw”) and your Eligible Entry constitutes acceptance of the following terms and conditions:
- The promotional period is 18 July to 31 July 2025 inclusive (“Promotional Period”).
- To be automatically entered into the Prize Draw, you must apply and be accepted for a new SCPI PetCare or AcciPet policy during the Promotional Period, with a policy start date prior to the 4th August 2025 (“Eligible Entries”). FreeCover and renewals of existing SCPI policies are not eligible for this Prize Draw.
- There is one (1) prize to be won, comprising 12 months of the premium payable for the base PetCare or AcciPet policy purchased (plus consult care extra if selected) free for one (1) pet up to a maximum value of $2,500 (Prize).
- The Prize will not be adjusted to reflect any changes a Prize winner subsequently makes to their policy which increases or decreases their premium.
- If the annual premium for the Prize Winner’s policy is more than $2,500 they will receive a $2,500 Prezzy® card instead and will still be required to pay the premium for their policy for the full 12 months.
- The Prize will be drawn at random from the Eligible Entries , with the draw taking place on Wednesday, 13 August 2025.
- The Prize winner will be notified by email and/or telephone. If the Prize winner is not able to be contacted within 5 days of the applicable Prize Draw, another winner will be drawn for the Prize.
- The administrator of the Prize Draw is SCPI.
- If the Prize winner has made an initial payment for their policy when they joined, this will be refunded after the Prize is drawn, except where clause 5 applies.
- At the end of the 12 month free period, SCPI will contact the Prize winner and ask if they wish to renew their policy, and if so, help them re-activate their payment mechanism. The usual premium applicable to the policy they hold will apply from the end of the 12 month free period.
- All terms, conditions and exclusions of the policy will continue to apply, other than the requirement to pay the premium for the first 12 months.
- SCPI’s decision is final.
- To the extent permitted by law SCPI makes no warranty or guarantee in relation to the prize. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit or exclude any liability under the Consumer Guarantee Act 1993 or any other statutory rights that the prize winner may have in relation to the prize.
- Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, SCPI (and its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss, damage or injury arising in any way in connection with the Prize Draw or acceptance or use of the prize.
- Other than as described in clause 5 above, the Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable and not redeemable for cash. For the avoidance of doubt if the Prize winner cancels their policy prior to the end of their 12 months free period no payment of cash will be made.
- Staff, contractors or agents of SCPI and other Southern Cross branded businesses and their immediate families are not eligible to enter or win the Prize Draw.
- SCPI may use any personal information collected during the Prize Draw to administer the Prize Draw.
- Personal information collected in relation to the Prize Draw will be held by SCPI, Level 1, Te Kupenga, 155 Fanshawe Street, Auckland 1010. Subjects of personal information have the right to access and request correction of any personal information held about them in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
